Tentmakers are those who have responded to God’s call to proclaim Christ in cultures other than their own, and who combine this with secular employment in that culture.
There are many openings for professionals in places where traditional missionary work is restricted.
Many countries are actively seeking the assistance of non-nationals in specific areas such as agriculture, business, medicine, education and technology. In this way tentmakers have the opportunity to live and work alongside people in new and often hostile environments, build relationships and serve Christ and the host country in ways that allow the sharing of the Good News of Christ.
Tentmakers witness with their whole lives. Their jobs are an integral part of their work for the Kingdom of God.
Any committed Christian with marketable skills, a teachable spirit and the desire to share his/her faith with others can be a tentmaker.
