AZTEM'S PURPOSE

To encourage and facilitate Christians, with marketable skills, to live and witness for Christ in cross cultural situations, and/or among people who have no easy access to the Gospel.

AZTEM'S GOALS

1. To recruit and train in such a way that Christian disciples go with the vision and commitment to lead to Christ and disciple at least one national peer.

2. To ensure, if possible, that tentmakers be recognised, commissioned and sent by the local church.

3. To encourage accountability structures to AZTEM, their home and local churches and like minded local mentor/mentors.

4. To build a structure of specific prayer support in the home country for each tentmaker on assignment.

5. To actively support tentmakers on assignment with pastoral care and professional input.

6. To maintain a database of Christians with specific capabilities, who are available to accept short or long term assignments and of those who can provide specialist support for those who are on assignment.

7. To familiarise tentmakers on assignment with the Christian context of the country or situation to which they go.

8. To cooperate, where appropriate, with other local and overseas organisations involved in similar work.

9. To equip tentmakers to become sensitive and responsive to the receptor’s beliefs and customs and demonstrate Biblical beliefs and values through a Christian life-style.

10. To improve tentmakers’ capabilities through regular research, training and development.
